Every year, National Real Estate Investor updates the market with the top brokers, property managers, lenders, financial intermediaries, and owners in the commercial real estate industry.

The top property managers are based on the total square footage space managed globally, including space that is owned and third party managed.

1. CBRE Group; with 5,310,892,216 sq. ft.
2. JLL; with 4,400,000,000 sq. ft.
3. Colliers International; with 1,500,000,000 sq. ft.
4. Cushman & Wakefield; with 1,316,329,885 sq. ft.

The top ranking direct lenders ranking reflects the total dollar amount financed in 2016. The numbers include direct loans, credit lines, CMBS loans, and other forms of direct investment in CRE.

1. Wells Fargo; with $65,505,000,000
2. JP Morgan Chase & Co.; with $50,955,000,000
3. Capital One Financial; with $28,502,000,000
4. Deutsche Bank; with $22,049,000,000\

The top financial intermediaries ranking is reflected by the total dollar amount of CRE loans arranged in 2016.

1. Wells Fargo; with $48,344,000,000
2. HFF; with $45,356,914,000
3. CBRE; with $41,740,000,000
4. Meridian Capital Group; with $35,361,000,000

The top office owner’s ranking is calculated by the volume of office space owned globally as of December, 31 2016.

1. Blackstone Group; with 146,000,000 sq. ft.
2. Brookfield Properties; with 125,000,000 sq. ft.
3. Tishman Speyer; with 64,700,000 sq. ft.
4. LaSalle Investment Management; with 47,644,390 sq. ft.

The top CRE brokers are based on the total global transaction volume in 2016. For almost a decade, CBRE Group has topped NREI’s ranking for the top brokerage firms. 2017 marks the 14th consecutive year that CBRE has topped the list; based on the total value of each firm’s leasing and investment sales transactions.
